You inquired about participating in the Sundance Farm
“Horse Days”. This is a great opportunity for your child to learn about
horses and how to take care of them.
Sundance Farm is a riding instruction facility owned by
Steve and Kelly Mahloch along with their two daughters Whitney and Ali. The
head instructor is Kelly.
We have a very good safety record, and work hard to
make sure everyone is thinking safely. For this reason, all students are
required to wear boots with a heel. While we would love for your child to
have riding boots, we will accept hiking boots, cowboy boots, and even snow
boots…but it must have a heel. Children who do not have boots will not be
allowed to step near the horses.
Children are allowed to bring a snack and drink to the
farm. We will try to tear them away from their horse activities to have a
short break-especially if it is really hot.
Please understand that this is a horse management
session, not riding lessons. If we are comfortable with the safety issues
of the participating group, we will consider a short riding session on the
third day. Students will be required to wear helmets, which we will
It is advised that you do not send your child wearing
their “Sunday Best”. Sturdy, durable jeans or shorts are best. Your child
will probably come home dirty or dusty from grooming and braiding or wet
from filling water buckets and learning to feed.
This is definitely an outdoor activity, but inclement
weather will not delay us. We have 3 barns and a large indoor riding arena
at our disposal.
Please return all required paperwork and full payment
within a minimum of 10 days before your chosen camp date. We will only be
accepting 10 participants per session.
We are very excited to offer “Horse Days” as it has
become very popular. We hope your child has a wonderful experience, here.
If our “Horse Days” is just the beginning of your child’s horse endeavors,
you are certainly welcome to inquire about riding lessons.
Thank you for considering Sundance Farm Horse Days.
